Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque presents Compañía Manuel Liñán in Nómada. Featuring three bailaoras, three bailaores, three singers, and two guitarists, the work is a “collective journey” framing the art of flamenco in different geographic regions and different textures. It develops Liñan’s work as a choreographer, director, and dancer—exploring the different worlds that sustain him on his diverse paths.
Humans remain innately nomadic, now searching for the places and forms that meet emotional needs as well as providing basic sustenance. As these artists investigate new physical and emotional realms, their performance is “a dance to movement, a song to the immense tapestry in which we live, with its infinite possibilities, and with a particular ode to the creative migration responsible for personal and artistic survival.”
