Travel through time and space with world-renowned Mexican flautist Horacio Franco in a unique recital of works by Bach and contemporary composers, including traditional Mexican music, presented in partnership with the Mexican Consulate in Albuquerque.

In an international career spanning over 30 years as a soloist and conductor, Franco has toured throughout Mexico, as well as to Central and South America, the Antilles, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Lithuania, Israel, Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Korea, and Japan.  Venues have included Carnegie Hall, Mexico City's Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Berliner Philharmonic Hall, Tokyo's Bunka Kaikan, and Tel Aviv's Tzavta Hall.  He has recorded over 25 albums in Mexico and others in Europe and Israel, and has transformed the image of the recorder-usually regarded as an amateur instrument-into a consummately professional one.  One of the most versatile artists in the classical music world, he is regarded as one of Mexico's most successful classical musicians, and has made this music accessible to younger audiences through his performances in alternative venues and his "pop star" image.

Tickets available at the NHCC box office one hour before the event.
