During April, Instituto Cervantes presents the work of four filmmakers in collaboration with Alcine, the film festival of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid, Spain). One of the oldest festivals in Spain, Alcine celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020.
To mark the anniversary of the festival, Del corto al largo (y viceversa) presents a dialogue between two works (a short subject and a feature film) by each of the filmmakers selected from among its participants. In addition to showcasing the work of Alcine, this cycle shows how filmmakers may work in one format or another, according to their interests and the stories they have to tell.
Del corto al largo includes the work of directors Álex Montoya, Belén Macías, and Juanjo Giménez, as well as producer María del Puy Alvarado, four artists who have presented their work at Alcine—known for its short film program, although it also includes feature films—throughout their careers.
