John Bourne, then an anthropology student from California, filmed this narrative of daily life in Tepetlaoxtoc, a rural village in the Valley of Mexico, in 1956. Edited and completed that same year, the film was set aside when no distributor could be found. The original masters, presumed lost or discarded, were discovered in 2013, the present copyright date of the film, years after Bourne had given up searching for them.
