As part of our book series in celebration of the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s 25th Year Anniversary, the Center is excited to welcome a proud New Mexican, Dr. Lillian Gorman and the sharing of her book Zones of Encuentro: Language and Identities in Northern New Mexico. Please join us for a reading and workshop on January 25!
About the Author: Dr. Gorman is an associate professor at the University of Arizona and serves Director of the Spanish as a Heritage Language Program in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Her research interests center around issues of language and identity within U.S. Latina/o/x communities and in U.S. Latina/o/x popular culture. Her interdisciplinary work also focuses on heritage language pedagogy and its intersections with bilingual education. She is a graduate of The University of New Mexico and multigenerational New Mexican (Norteña).
