In a library in Anywhere, USA, students learn about their past history, origin, and culture from a larger-than-life, animated Big Book of Stories that pays homage to the oral history tradition of blacks in America. The Griot (also known as the school librarian) uses a backdrop of high-energy music, dance, and spoken word to take these unwitting students, who initially think they “know it all,” on an eye-opening, riveting journey, full of poignant, heart-wrenching, and inspiring stories they didn’t learn in school. Roots Revival Revisited is an original story written by Albuquerque’s own Cathryn McGill.
Student Performances – $3
