Junior, a nine-year-old boy living in a housing project in Caracas with his widowed mother and baby brother, wants to have his stubbornly curly—or “bad”—hair straightened for his yearbook picture. As he grows increasingly obsessed with his hair, his mother finds him increasingly difficult to handle, and a showdown looms. Presented as part of the Bank of America Free Thursday Film Series.
