Breakin Hearts serves as a community event that encompasses all elements of Latinx, indigenous, and all communities that represent hip hop culture for the past 20 years in the Southwest. Breakin Hearts serves as a platform for local and national artists. The purpose of the event is to create a safe space for under-represented artists AND established professionals to showcase their talents, compete, and celebrate hip hop culture under one roof. Hip hop is all about peace, love, unity and having fun, which really shines through at Breakin Hearts.
The United Hip Hop Family (UHF Crew) & Movement is Medicine is excited to keep tradition alive at the NHCC Grand Ballroom. The event, taking place on Valentines weekend, is a family friendly one day festival featuring dozens of live hip hop performers, MC’s, DJ’s, a beatbox competition, a breaking tournament, flamenco performance, Soul/Reggae/Funk bands, vendor market, open-to-the public canvas art competition, a hip hop fashion contest, spoken word poetry performances, food trucks, lots of dancing, music and more.
Come join us this year as we celebrate with Breakin Hearts basic principles of Education, Competition and Reflection. See you there!
