Instituto Cervantes, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, and the Education Office-Embassy of Spain present the awards for a student drawing contest to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote. Students in three age categories, ages 6-8, 9-11, and 12-15 were invited to submit original drawings depicting any subject matter relating to either Don Quixote or Miguel de Cervantes.
A special grand prize will be awarded courtesy of Honorary Consul of Spain Fred Mondragón. First, second, and third prizes in each age category will be monetary awards for both the student and the school. Fourth, fifth, and sixth place winners in each category will receive a medal of honor, courtesy of the Mexican Consulate in Albuquerque.
