Join Dr. Lillian Gorman for a community roundtable workshop, titled ‘Charting the Future of New Mexico Spanish as a Heritage Language,’ that dives deep into the stories of New Mexico Spanish and our roles in sharing and preserving it.
About the Author: Dr. Gorman is an associate professor at the University of Arizona and serves Director of the Spanish as a Heritage Language Program in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Her research interests center around issues of language and identity within U.S. Latina/o/x communities and in U.S. Latina/o/x popular culture. Her interdisciplinary work also focuses on heritage language pedagogy and its intersections with bilingual education. She is a graduate of The University of New Mexico and multigenerational New Mexican (Norteña).
