5:30 to 7:30 pm
All teachers, administrators, parents, & artists are invited to join us to view the fresco mural, Mundos de Mestizaje, enjoy appetizers and beverages, and participate in discussions about curricula and community needs.
The National Hispanic Cultural Center and AmeriCorps VISTA are seeking partnerships with schools, educators, parents, and artists to develop a curriculum for as many K-12 students as possible. Our first focus is creating content incorporating Mundos de Mestizaje.
Mundos de Mestizaje is a 4000sqft concave, buon fresco depicting thousands of years of history and highlights the diverse cultural connections between people and places. This impressive work of art is one of the largest frescos in North America and can be found in the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Torreón.
We encourage all community members interested in education development to attend!
Through outreach and discussion, we intend to better understand community needs and how this curriculum would be most useful and inspiring for students.
Share your knowledge and learn more about joining our Working Group of advisors!
