Manicomio, Fernán-Gómez’ directorial debut, reworks several stories from different sources about the world of inmates in psychiatric institutions. When the protagonist, Carlos, visits his girlfriend at the hospital where she works, the director of the facility introduces him to his niece, who is obsessed with playing the harp continuously, and to a nurse who repeats word for word what Carlos says.
