Mondays in the Sun (Los lunes al sol) follows five unemployed shipworkers in the Spanish port city of Vigo. Down on their luck, they pass their time at La Naval, a bar that one of them opened after the shipyard closed, and face their futures in makeshift ways—encouraging each other to search for work, love, and the strength of hope for better days. Santa, the unofficial leader and troublemaker of the group, dreams of one day going to Australia. Presented as part of the Bank of America Free Thursday Film Series; in June, the series features films by award-winning Spanish actor Javier Bardem.
