Released from prison after being framed for murder, Aurelio returns to his hometown to try to start a new life working his land, but finds that he is still regarded as a pariah. The already tense situation worsens, with melodramatic consequences, when he falls in love with the girlfriend of the town political boss. Pueblerina is the last of director Fernández’ films about Mexican village life. The fifth of five films in this series, presented in partnership with the Mexican Consulate in Albuquerque.
