The Sandia Performing Arts Company (SPAC) presents the film version of their recent production of Reasons. Directed by Ruben Muller, Reasons is the dark and disturbing story of Elvino Luis Mulares, a Mexican American World War II Army veteran who survived the war but still carries the psychological scars, spanning a 40-year period of his life as an alcoholic with a growing family in mid-century New Mexico. Mulares, the narrator of his story, has now died, and begins speaking to an unknown audience to make a case for why he deserves to be admitted to Heaven, rather than damned for his mistakes. The filmed version is just under an hour in length.
