6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
NHCC invites adults for artistic fun in a relaxed social setting. This is a great opportunity for friends to hang out, a unique date night option, or a place to come solo and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase.
Join artist, community organizer and youth advocate, Erik Rivera in a mixed media project in conjunction with the exhibit, Into the Hourglass: Paño Arte from the Rudy Padilla Collection.
Erik Rivera is currently the Youth Reporting Center Coordinator for the South Valley, at La Plazita Institute. He runs weekly life skills, education, and youth support groups. Erik was born and raised in Albuquerque and is in the process of completing his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy with a minor concentration in Fine Arts Studio. He is a proud tribal member of the Navajo Nation, Native New Mexican of Mayan decent and German lineage. Knowledge of his community and Native/Hispanic heritage allows him the ability to connect in a way that promotes trust and cultural identity.
