Indigenerds will rejoice as Albuquerque plays host to the first-ever Indigenous Comic Con. From November 18 through November 20, the Duke City will welcome Indigenous artists, creators, and designers from the worlds of comic books, games, sci-fi/fantasy, film, and television to share their art and expertise with a general audience and the Native/Indigenous community. The lineup features Jeffrey Veregge, current cover artist for Marvel’s Red Wolf as well as IDW’s GI Joe and Judge Dredd, and Arigon Star, the award-winning musician, playwright, and creator of Super Indian, the longest-running Native comic book in the world. Everyone is welcome, as there will be numerous activities, panels, and vendors to engage and entertain the whole family.
The Indigenous Comic Con is hosted by Native Realities Publishing (www.nativerealities.com), A Tribe Called Geek (www.atribecalledgeek.com), and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Event tickets, vendor applications, and general information can be found online at www.indigenouscomiccon.com.
