Commemorate the 400th anniversary of Miguel de Cervantes’ death with a special flamenco recital, performed by singer and composer Fernando Barros Lirola and his company.
The performance will combine music and dance in an exploration of Cervantes’ major work, Don Quixote, and a tribute to the flamenco tradition, one of the most revered in Spanish culture. It will be preceded by a reading of the best-known passages from Don Quixote.
Fernando Barros, internationally recognized as an innovator, reveals in his compositions the “melody” inherent in Spanish literature and poetry, including the works of García Lorca, Machado, Jiménez, and Cervantes.
