Visual Art Museum 1701 4th Street SW, AlbuquerqueThe Art Museum at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) is honored to host the exhibition Paño Connections organized by artist and guest curator Eric "Christo" Martinez. On display in the Community Gallery, which is dedicated to showcasing art by New Mexican artists, this exhibit explores artworks inspired by paños (drawings on handkerchiefs) and other artworks created by incarcerated artists. The artists whose work is featured in the exhibition use the street as their medium to create graffiti and/or murals. On the street, their work is widely accessible to passersby, yet also ephemeral. Colcha Community Stitch A-Long
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque9:30 am in-person 10:30 am Zoom Our Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions.
