NHCC Library Latin Dance Book Collection Open House

4 pm to 6:30 pm  The NHCC Library would like to introduce you to its recently acquired Latin Dance Book Collection, made possible through a grant from the New Mexico Library Foundation. Join us Tuesday December 5th from 6:30-8:30 pm to view the books, make free photocopies from the collection, and enjoy a dance demonstration by the Rueda505 dancers at 6:45 pm. School Day Event: The Nutcracker Ballet in the Land of Enchantment

10 am Festival Ballet Albuquerque and the NHCC, with choreography by Patricia Dickinson Wells, present The Nutcracker Ballet in the Land of Enchantment. This beloved holiday classic comes to life in the late 1800s in territorial New Mexico, with many surprises including Spanish and flamenco dancers, dancing southwestern snakes, sheep and shepherdesses, hummingbirds, a lively fandango, and a storyteller doll with children. Traditional favorites such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Snowflakes, and Flowers are also preserved in all their splendor, while beautiful sets, lavish western Victorian-era costumes (more...)

6 pm to 7 pm Beginning and Intermediate - This class is geared for teenagers and adults. Come learn footwork, partner skills and choreography. No experience necessary. 7 pm to 8 pm Intermediate and Advanced - In order to participate in this class, dancers must know how to keep time, closed position calls, dame, enchufla, and outside turn.
