Saturday Special: Torreón Tour: Mundos de Mestizaje
NHCC Torreón 1701 4th street SW, Albuquerque, NM, United States11:00 am In addition to our regularly scheduled Thursday and Friday Torreón Tours, the National Hispanic Cultural Center now has a newly added Saturday Tour on the second Saturday of every month. This is a guided tour of the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco created by artist Frederico Vigil, located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, depicting thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity. Stitch Night

Bring whatever knitting, crocheting, weaving, or cross stitch, or fiber art projects you’re working on, and join the conversation with your fellow crafters for an informal craft get-together. If you would like to learn the basics of a particular stitching technique, please bring supplies with you, though we will always have basic crochet and knitting materials on hand for an impromptu demonstration! Free Community Event, generously supported by NM Gas. Bilingual Storytime is designed for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. For school, childcare, or homeschool groups; please reach out to the NHCC Librarian at amy.padilla@dca.nm.gov to find out about group options and available dates. We are unable to accommodate these groups during the Bilingual Storytime on third Tuesdays.
Colcha Community Stitch A-long
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM9:30 am in-person 10:30 am Zoom Our Colcha Community Stich-A-Long is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught colcha, a Spanish Colonial embroidery style, to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions.
