Disney Center for Performing Arts: Albuquerque Journal Theatre 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NMThursday-Saturday, March 5-7, 2020 7 pm—Thursday & Friday 2 pm—Saturday The Public Academy for Performing Arts (PAPA) presents Vision, its annual spring dance concert featuring beginning to pre-professional ballet, contemporary, flamenco, hip-hop, musical theatre, and jazz dance students from grades 6-12. Approximate length of the event is two hours. $7, $12, $17 The event is a rental event not an NHCC production. No experience is necessary to participate in this class. 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm—Advanced Class In order to participate in this class, dancers must come to at least one 6 pm class and be familiar with the vocabulary and movement introduced in these classes. NHCC Facebook3 pm “Our Fair New Mexico” includes performances by musicians living in New Mexico. On June 21 at 3 pm, the 14th concert of the series will feature ReVoZo a Dos: Vicente Griego, “El Cartucho,” and José Valle, “Chuscales.” Watch the concert at 3 pm on the NHCC’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NHCCNM/ ReVoZo draws upon Flamenco Puro and Rumba Flamenca tradition while combining these with elements of dance music, including Cuban Son, Reggae, Cumbia, Ranchera, and Funk. The program brings together two feature films and two documentaries, demonstrating the creative coexistence of these genres in contemporary cinematography.
