Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime

10:00 am NHCC | HLA Salon Ortega Stories come to life through art, movement, and more! For children ages 3 to 5 and caregivers. Free Community Event, generously supported by NM Gas. Bilingual Storytime is designed for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. For school, childcare, or homeschool groups; please reach out to the NHCC Librarian at amy.padilla@dca.nm.gov to find out about group options and available dates. We are unable to accommodate these groups during the Bilingual Storytime on third Tuesdays.

7:00 – 8:30 pm NHCC | Bank of America Theatre Join us for the Albuquerque premiere of Savior, a short film directed, edited, and filmed in Albuquerque by filmmaker Ray Santisteban. The film features Albuquerque poet Marcial Delgado, who has been invited to create a dialogue between the community of poets in Albuquerque writing on immigration and Dr. Laura Belmonte, an Associate Professor of Chicana and Chicano Studies at UNM and author of the book Borderland Brutalities: Violence in the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands in Literature, Culture, and Art. (more...)

Bring whatever knitting, crocheting, weaving, or cross stitch, or fiber art projects you’re working on, and join the conversation with your fellow crafters for an informal craft get-together. If you would like to learn the basics of a particular stitching technique, please bring supplies with you, though we will always have basic crochet and knitting materials on hand for an impromptu demonstration! These workshops will provide participating seniors with an opportunity to learn about the descendants of a person, their family, or evolution from an ancestor.
