3 pm Quintessence; Choral Artists of the Southwest present a concert of works from their 6th Annual Summer Choral Festival, including the New Mexico Premiere of Robert Cohen’s “Alzheimer’s Stories”, Jocelyn Hagen and Dessa’s “Controlled Burn” and a special set of pieces by the 2018 Choral Scholars. This concert is presented in partnership with Alzheimer’s Association New Mexico Chapter. Domingos en Arte: Baracutanga

7:30 pm Baracutanga is a seven-piece band representing four different countries (Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, USA) that prides itself on arranging traditional South American rhythms in new and interesting ways, such as huayño and cumbia with Middle-Eastern darbuka or mixing Afro-Cuban bata and Afro-Peruvian festejo with Andean zampoñas, among several other rhythmic combinations.
