Chispa: Latin Diva Series, Vanessa Zamora
NHCC-Newsletter-November-2-307:30 pm Born in Tijuana, Baja California to parents who were both pianists, acoustic folk-pop singer/songwriter Vanessa Zamora became interested in the performing arts as a child. She began piano lessons at the age of eight, and continued a year later with guitar and drums. While a student at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, she began uploading videos covering favorite songs by various artists on YouTube and social networking sites. 23rd Annual César Chávez Day
10:30 am - Marcha 12 pm – Fiesta Join the 23rd annual César Chávez Day celebration, with a march beginning at 10:30 am and ending at noon at the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Plaza Mayor. Following the march, the family fiesta at the Center includes poetry, dancing, community awards and exhibits, children’s activities, food, a keynote speech by Carlos Marentes, and live music by Las Cafeteras.
