The program awards up to 18 contestants with private voice, group dance, and group acting lessons for 16 weeks as they compete for a $60,000 scholarship to AMDA College of the Performing Arts in New York City. 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Join us for arts activities and music during a day that honors the Barelas community, one of Albuquerque’s oldest neighborhoods. Visitors will have a chance to make paper architecture, maracas, and weavings. Join Chuy Martinez and other flamenco performers for sing-along presentations featuring music from the John Donald Robb New Mexico music archives. 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm We are excited to announce Round 6: 48 Hour Film Challenge. In this round, the remaining contestants have been paired with film crews from across the City to write, film, and edit an 8-minute short film in just 48 hours. This challenge will showcase their acting abilities alongside prepared monologues that they have taped.
