Baila!’s annual holiday show is a whirlwind extravaganza\, taking audiences on a journey through the sights and sounds of Christmas in New Mexico. Music\, song\, and dance with the traditional Southwestern flair that has been cultivated in our state over the generations\, as well as unique segments saluting Christmas traditions from around the world\, will delight theatre-goers of all ages. In 2022\, Baila! Baila! will be celebrating its 33rd year in spectacular fashion. Christmas in New Mexico features a large\, multigenerational cast including dancers as young as six\, as well as Baila! Baila!’s professional company dancers. Special guest performances include live mariachi and an appearance by company founder Israela Garcia. \nBaila! Baila! Dance Academy was founded in 1990 with the mission of educating students solely in traditional Mexican folk dance. The school’s curriculum expanded to additional dance genres including country western\, salsa\, hip hop\, classical ballet\, and Danza Azteca. \nTickets range from $22 to $32\, with a $2 discount for students\, seniors\, and NHCC Members.

On this auspicious day\, people light diyas (lamps) and candles all around their houses. They perform Laxmi Puja in the evening and seek divine blessings from the Goddess of Wealth. Television/Film which was founded in 1984 in Austin\, Texas. \nGalán theatrically released his feature documentary\, Los Lonely Boys: Cottonfields and Crossroads in 2006. Most recently\, Galán completed production in the Middle East and Europe on a six hour series\, The Road from Christ to Constantine\, a remarkable journey into early Christianity and completed production on Children of GIANT\, a documentary feature set in the West Texas town of Marfa\, that explores social issues throughout history\, weaving a scenic exploration of the Academy Award-winning film\, George Stevens’ Giant\, with contemporary interviews.

His comedic brilliance makes people laugh at life’s hypocrisies and the insanity he sees in the world. \nA GRAMMY Award-winning stand-up comedian\, Black performs his critically acclaimed shows more than 200 nights annually\, to capacity audiences throughout Europe\, New Zealand\, Canada\, and the United States. He is one of a few performers to sell out renowned theaters including Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center\, Brooks Atkinson Theatre\, New York City Center\, and the main stage at the Mirage in Las Vegas\, with a sold-out Broadway run at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. Black has released eight comedy albums\, including the 2007 GRAMMY Award-winning The Carnegie Hall Performance. He won his second GRAMMY Award for his album Stark Raving Black\, and has published three best-selling books\, Nothing’s Sacred (Simon & Schuster\, 2005)\, Me of Little Faith (Riverhead Books\, 2008)\, and I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas  (Riverhead Books\, 2010). \nIn 2012\, he performed eight sold-out shows at the Richard Rodgers Theatre\, as well as performing one of his two HBO specials\, Black on Broadway. In 2015\, Black portrayed the character of Anger in the Academy Award-winning Pixar film Inside Out. A published playwright\, he has written over 40 plays\, and has had his work performed throughout the country\, at venues including the A.C.T. Theatre\, the Magic Theatre\, The Williamstown Theatre Festival\, and The Public Theatre. The Last Movie follows a Hollywood movie crew in the midst of making a western in a remote Peruvian village. On this particular day\, Nelson\, the youngest son\, enters the house in a panic to hide the more obvious religious relics from the sight of his “gringo” girlfriend\, who is visiting for the weekend. Nelson’s mother\, Dahlia\, is obsessed with retrieving her husband from his new girlfriend; Eddie\, her elder son\, shows up in a van with his failed life and pregnant girlfriend. But the “real” pandemonium is caused by sweet\, long-suffering Dolores\, Dahlia’s old-maid sister\, when she sees the face of the Holy Virgin in a tortilla. This miracle brings hordes of believers and reporters to camp out on the Cruz’s lawn to await further miracles.
