School Day Event: The Nutcracker Ballet in the Land of Enchantment

This beloved holiday classic comes to life in the late 1800s in territorial New Mexico, with many surprises including Spanish and flamenco dancers, dancing southwestern snakes, sheep and shepherdesses, hummingbirds, a lively fandango, and a storyteller doll with children. No experience necessary. 7 pm to 8 pm Intermediate and Advanced - In order to participate in this class, dancers must know how to keep time, closed position calls, dame, enchufla, and outside turn. Chispa: NM Jazz Latino Orchestra, From the Beginning

The featured artist, Bobby Shew on trumpet, is an international jazz star and a personal friend of Mr. Gillespie.
