Visual Arts Museum: First Sunday Free Admission

10 am to 4 pm The first Sunday of every month the NHCC Art Museum is free to all New Mexico residents. Visit exhibitions such as: Aquí Estamos: New Selections from the Permanent Collection, Tempo y Tiempo: 4 Photographers in NM, and Mira Mira on the Wall: Reflecting on 20 Years of NHCC Exhibitions. Reserve tickets for the free first Sunday of the month early by clicking on the link below. All visitors and employees will be required to wear masks or cloth face coverings at all times.

High Spirit Dance: Recital Dancing For Jesus

4 pm A ballet, jazz, and hip-hop dance recital featuring children, young adults, and professional dancers—an exciting ensemble of students and teachers bringing today’s music to life in high-quality dance productions. $12, $15, $17 COVID PROTOCOLS: As the health and safety of our visitors, employees, and the community are our utmost priority, everyone is required to wear an approved mask or cloth face covering when entering any facility on the NHCC campus. New Mexico Spanish Spelling Bee

8:00 am - 2:00 pm New Mexico Association for Bilingual Education presents the New Mexico Spanish Spelling Bee. Students in grades 4-8 from across New Mexico represent their school districts or charter schools in the Spanish Spelling Bee Competition.  This contest is intended to continue promoting the Spanish language and culture among New Mexico students. On Point Dance Studio: A World of Dance

6:00 pm On Point Dance Studio presents our 2022 Summer Recital. Our students will perform routines they have learned during our spring semester, a combination of Folklorico, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tumbling and Contemporary. $20, $25, $30 The event is a rental event not an NHCC production. 10:00 am Listen to the rollicking story, Gazpacho for Nacho and then use your five senses to explore the tasty ingredients of gazpacho! By Tracey Kyle (Author) and Carolina Farías (Illustrator). Our gazpacho will be made with cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, garlic, onion, olive oil, pepper, salt, vinegar. For children ages 3 to 5 and caregivers Free. Register below. 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Celebrate your dreams of the future through the arts! Make a futuristic costume piece with artists Mike Moreno and Ehren Kee Natay. Explore creative dramatic movement and get inspired with a special presentation by Ehren Kee Natay for this family-friendly free event. Families can also visit the NHCC art museum for free and learn more about exhibits. Arte Poquito: Música de Bebé

Have fun with instruments for toddlers at this family-friendly event! Arte Poquito is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for infants ages 0 to 18 months and caregivers that nurtures creativity and provides bilingual introductory arts experiences balanced with social interaction. Explorar las Artes is a free, bi-monthly 45-minute program for children ages 3-5 years old and caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC museum and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time.
