Balloon Fiesta Torreón Tour

11:00 am During the week of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the Center will be hosting additional weekend guided tours of the dramatic Mundos de Mestizaje fresco by Frederico Vigil. These additional tours will be held on the first two Saturdays of October at 11 am. Located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, Mundos de Mestizaje depicts thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity. NHCC Volunteer Clean Up Day

Shift 1: 8:30 - 11:30 am Shift 2: 1:30 - 3:00 pm The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs is proud to play our role in keeping New Mexico enchantingly clean as four of our museums and Historic Sites offer a volunteer clean-up day on Friday, October 18. Volunteers will meet at the NHCC Welcome Center at 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. NHCC’s 2nd Annual Espooky Mercado

This pop-up gives visitors the chance to indulge their macabre side with supernatural goods of all varieties. In collaboration with Dark Red Productions. The NHCC will host the 2024 Dark Red Film Festival, New Mexico’s premier international horror film festival on October 25th and October 26th. Día de Familia: Día de los Muertos

11:00 am – 3:00 pm NHCC | Domenici Education Building Join us for a special day for the whole family commemorating Día de los Muertos traditions. Contribute to our community ofrenda and view ofrendas created by local schools and community organizations. Decorate sugar skulls, craft paper flowers, enjoy face-painting, and sample Pan de Muerte. Diwali Festival of Lights 2024

5:00 pm NHCC | Albuquerque Journal Theatre The INDIA Association of New Mexico presents the Diwali Festival of Lights 2024. Diwali is one of India's biggest Hindu festivals, celebrated with great enthusiasm and happiness. The festival lasts five continuous days, and the third day is celebrated as the main Diwali festival or ‘Festival of Lights.' Different colorful varieties of fireworks are always associated with this festival. On this auspicious day, people light up diyas and candles all around their house.
