Opening Reception, The Art of Christmas: New Mexico Style
September-2019-Board-Meeting-Minutes5 pm to 7 pm Join us for the opening reception for the exhibition The Art of Christmas: New Mexico Style, featuring approximately 430 handmade ornaments by more than 125 New Mexican artists that have been collected by the Duran family (Matt, Jeanette, and their son Gabriel) over nearly 20 years. Matt and Jeanette began collecting Christmas ornaments in 2000 and there first tree was only 4 feet tall. International Cinema Series, presented in partnership with ¡Globalquerque!, New Mexico’s Fourteenth Celebration of World Music and Culture, returning to the NHCC on September 21 & 22. Día de los Muertos Ofrenda Exhibit and Community Ofrenda
NHCC Campus 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM10 am to 5 pm Each year the NHCC works with schools and community organizations to host an Ofrenda (altar) Installation, in celebration of Día de los Muertos. Participants’ submissions will be on display in the Domenici Education Building and the Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts at the NHCC. Día de los Muertos: Despedida

Join the NHCC and experienced, knowledgeable local artists to learn about the meaning of this celebration, the traditional arts and crafts associated with the celebration and development of ofrendas that honor families and individuals. 5th Annual South American Folk Fair
