Carnaval 2016: “Ticket to Paradise”
Roy E. Disney Center for Performing Arts: Albuquerque Journal Theatre 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM7:30 pm Frank and Pilar Leto and the NHCC continue their annual celebration of Carnaval with a festive and colorful evening of music, dance, and theatre featuring the Odara Dance Ensemble and the musical group PANdemonium. Carnaval 2016: “Ticket to Paradise” transports the audience to exotic Carnaval destinations. You are invited to join the party at our first stop in Rio de Janeiro, then on to Trinidad, Cuba, and our final destination, New Orleans. 23rd Annual César Chávez Day
10:30 am - Marcha 12 pm – Fiesta Join the 23rd annual César Chávez Day celebration, with a march beginning at 10:30 am and ending at noon at the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Plaza Mayor. Following the march, the family fiesta at the Center includes poetry, dancing, community awards and exhibits, children’s activities, food, a keynote speech by Carlos Marentes, and live music by Las Cafeteras. Bosque Chile Festival

Aki Matsuri (Japanese Fall Festival) 2017 (Rental)
10 am to 5 pm Celebrate the NMJACL’s annual fall festival Aki Matsuri on Sunday, September 17th featuring Japanese cultural exhibits, vendor fair, musical demonstrations, Japanese art, Japanese food, Beer and Sake tastings and more! The New Mexico Japanese-American Citizens League (NMJACL) has been hosting Aki Matsuri (trans.: fall festival) for over twenty years. The festival is the main annual event for NMJACL and serves as a venue to share Japanese and Japanese-American (JA) culture with all of New Mexico. Día de los Muertos: Despedida
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM5 pm to 7 pm Día de Muertos is an annual traditional holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and many Hispanic communities. Join the NHCC and experienced, knowledgeable local artists to learn about the meaning of this celebration, the traditional arts and crafts associated with the celebration and development of ofrendas that honor families and individuals.
