Salud y Sabor celebrates Mexico and Día de los Muertos

11:30 am - 2 pm Free Family Fun Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC is a free event with food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment. 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Diwali is one of the biggest Hindu festivals, celebrated in India with great enthusiasm and happiness for five continuous days. The third day is celebrated as the main Diwali festival, or “Festival of Lights,” and different varieties of colorful fireworks are always associated with this festival. Los Pastores de Belén

3 pm Los Pastores, the New Mexican Shepherds Play, was brought to New Mexico in 17th century from Spain. The play follows the adventures, antics, and battles of shepherds, angels, and devils. On their journey to Bethlehem to take their presents, the shepherds are waylaid by Demonio. The audience is amused by the mischief of Bartolo, the lazy shepherd, and the rhetorical prowess and swordplay of San Miguel. Festival Ballet Albuquerque Presents The Nutcracker in the Land of Enchantment

Frank Leto Musical Ventures and the NHCC continue their annual partnership to celebrate Carnaval at the Center with a festive and colorful evening of music, dance, and theatre, featuring the Odara Dance Ensemble and the musical group PANdemonium.
