Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM9 am to 3:30 pm Join us on April 15th for DreamBuilders 2016, an annual STEAM event developed to inspire and foster interest in the intersection of the Arts with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines. This is a community project designed to focus on artistic expressions enabled through and integrated with technology while highlighting our rich cultural identity. History and Literary Arts Building6 pm The La Canoa Legacy Series features talks by Hispanic/Latino academic and community researchers with long-standing and distinguished records of research and teaching about New Mexico and the region. Like la canoa—referring in New Mexican Spanish to several utilitarian objects used to receive and transport people and resources and thus provide a service to the community—these talks are meant to serve the community by presenting new or overlooked information about our region to interested audiences. Gabriel Meléndez the Distinguished Professor of American Studies at the University of New Mexico. He has authored books on borderlands literature and film, serves on the board of the Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Project and is a general editor for the Pasó por aquí Series at UNM Press. Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NMJoin the Hispanic Women's Council and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in the Education Building, Room 122/124, for a public lecture by US Ambassador Mari-Luci Jaramillo. The event is open to the public and free to attend. Dr. Mari-Luci Jaramillo, was the first Latina to serve as United States Ambassador. She was assigned to the Republic of Honduras as Ambassador and later as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Latin America under the Carter administration.
