    Thursday-Saturday, March 5-7, 2020 7 pm—Thursday & Friday 2 pm—Saturday The Public Academy for Performing Arts (PAPA) presents Vision, its annual spring dance concert featuring beginning to pre-professional ballet, contemporary, flamenco, hip-hop, musical theatre, and jazz dance students from grades 6-12. Approximate length of the event is two hours. $7, $12, $17 The event is a rental event not an NHCC production.   • Mapitzmitl Xiukwetzpaltin (PAZ) Presents Tonal Machiotl/Piedra del Sol/Aztec Calendar

    11 am This is the first of a series of workshops about the Aztec calendar, covering a range of subject matter pertaining to this indigenous timekeeping device that was rediscovered in Mexico City in 1790. It is an overview of the calendar; participants will be shown the meaning of the calendar’s different concentric rings, which are used to chart solar, ceremonial, and Venutian years. No experience is necessary to participate in this class. 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm—Advanced Class In order to participate in this class, dancers must come to at least one 6 pm class and be familiar with the vocabulary and movement introduced in these classes.
