NHCC-Newsletter-November-2-307 pm This biopic/drama depicts the professional and personal life of surrealist Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, who lived a bold and uncompromising life as an artistic, political, and sexual revolutionary. The film chronicles her turbulent marriage to Diego Rivera and her political activism, as well as the lifelong, debilitating effects of the traumatic bus accident she suffered at age eighteen. Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment.
