Colcha Community Stitch A-long

9:30 am (MST) on the second Tuesday of the Month On Zoom and onsite Our Colcha community Workshop is open to all levels of experience in an informal setting. This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught this art form to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Santa Fe Spanish Market. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions. NHCC Foundation Presents the 5th Annual Women’s Art Show

Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM

10:00 am to 4:00 pm The Women’s Art Show displays work from approximately 50 female artists who are coming from throughout New Mexico to participate in this show. Half of the artists are coming from the following communities: Chimayo, Taos, Tijeras, Las Vegas, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Alcalde, Chamita, Espanola, Placitas, Santa Fe, Peralta, Los Ranchos, Santo Domingo, Las Cruces, Anthony, Santa Cruz and Cerrillos. Fronteras del Futuro Catalog Release Party

1:00 pm Come celebrate the release of the catalog for the NHCC’s unique exhibition Fronteras del Futuro: Art in New Mexico and Beyond with us on Saturday, Oct. 15. Mix and mingle with artists featured in the exhibition, and get your catalog signed while you enjoy the artworks and refreshments. The Mountains Wore Down to the Valleys Opening Reception

5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Join us for an opening reception to celebrate the artists behind our newest exhibition, The Mountains Wore Down to the Valleys! The Mountains Wore Down to the Valleys is a collaborative sound and visual installation by New Mexican artists Adri De La Cruz and Marisa Demarco. The multi-phase exhibition begins with a sound experience that transforms over the course of 72 hours as 20 musical compositions on vinyl records erode over time.  Stories of strength emanate from another record that plays multigenerational interviews (more...)
