We will explore the farm\, taste some fresh produce\, learn about New Mexico heritage\, sustainability\, and connection to the earth\, and enjoy mindfulness meditation with Wellness Specialist José Maresma. SUMMARY:Piñata Artist Justin Favela Creates an Installation Piece This Week
DESCRIPTION:Working in the media of painting\, sculpture\, performance\, and\, most importantly\, piñatas\, Justin draws from art history\, popular culture\, and his Guatemalan/Mexican heritage. His work has been exhibited across the United States in notable shows at venues including the Petersen Automotive Museum and the Denver Art Museum. \nCome admire his process and watch his installation come to life! Justin will be working periodically Monday through Friday. If you want to know if he will be working when you are planning a visit\, call 505-246-2261. \nIn addition\, piñata sponsors will have an opportunity to attend a meet and greet with Justin on Friday\, August\, 18. If you would like a chance to talk to him about his work\, there’s still time to sponsor a piñata! Romero curated a previous iteration of this exhibition in 2006 at the South Broadway Cultural Center and the NHCC Art Museum is thrilled to host the re-imagined version twelve years later. \nFeatured artists include: Jesús ” Cimi” Alvarado\, George C’de Baca\, Sylvia Ortiz Domney\, Christian Michael Gallegos\, Roberto Gallegos\, Eric Garcia\, Kristina Gonzales\, Nacho Jaramillo\, Al Na’ir Lara\, Chisim Bernal Lujan\, Oscar Lozoya\, Chris Ray Melendez\, El Moisés\, Derrick Montez\, Paloma Paz Nava\, Gabriel Luis Powers\, Chris Rivera\, Rebecca H.
