DESCRIPTION:10 am \nCONTRA-TIEMPO\, a multilingual Los Angeles-based dance company founded in 2005\, is dedicated to transforming the world through dance.  The company creates physically intense and politically astute performance work that moves audiences to imagine what is possible. Its unique Urban Latin Dance Theater brings to life voices not traditionally heard on the concert stage\, while building community and facilitating dialogue. \nCONTRA-TIEMPO’s work is rooted in salsa and Afro-Cuban and draws from hip-hop\, urban and contemporary dance-theatre\, pushing the boundaries of Latin dance as an expressive cultural form.  The company’s artists are a rich tapestry of professional dancers and performers from varied styles. \nTheir new work Agua Furiosa was developed through a series of site-specific performances connected to distinct bodies of water\, and explores issues of race\, exile\, injustice\, water\, drought\, and upheaval.\nThis is a free event with registration. DESCRIPTION:5:30 pm — 7:30 pm \nSalud y Sabor\, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network\, Street Food Institute\, and the NHCC\, is a free evening of food\, art\, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition\, cooking\, healthy lifestyles\, and culture. \nOnce a month\, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh\, locally grown ingredients\, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults\, health screenings\, and live entertainment. DESCRIPTION:Friday—2 pm to 9 pm; Saturday—10 am to 9 pm; Sunday—10 am to 6 pm \nIndigenerds will rejoice as Albuquerque plays host to the first-ever Indigenous Comic Con. From November 18 through November 20\, the Duke City will welcome Indigenous artists\, creators\, and designers from the worlds of comic books\, games\, sci-fi/fantasy\, film\, and television to share their art and expertise with a general audience and the Native/Indigenous community. The lineup features Jeffrey Veregge\, current cover artist for Marvel’s Red Wolf as well as IDW’s GI Joe and Judge Dredd\, and Arigon Star\, the award-winning musician\, playwright\, and creator of Super Indian\, the longest-running Native comic book in the world.
