Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment. Pimentel Concert Series: Gustavo Pimentel
NHCC Torreón 1701 4th street SW, Albuquerque, NM, United States7 pm Albuquerque master guitarist Gustavo Pimentel (“The Guitarist”) has been exposed to the finest exemplars of guitar music since childhood, beginning his studies in 1974 in the studios of Pimentel & Sons Guitarmakers. He graduated in 1995 from Mexico City’s prestigious Estudio de Arte Guitarrístico. Internationally recognized as a classical guitarist, he has performed in Spain and Germany as well as Mexico City. Mr. Gutierrez will relate the true story of Company E 141st Infantry, the only all Mexican American U.S. Army unit in WWII. In September of 2017, Hollywood actor/producer Wilmer Valderrama obtained the film rights to the book. Dave Gutierrez is a professional researcher, historical presenter, and writer.
