    Call for Entries! Día de los Muertos Community Ofrenda Exhibit 2019 Each year the National Hispanic Cultural Center works with schools and community organizations to host an exhibit of ofrendas (altars) in celebration of Día de los Muertos Ofrendas will be placed in the Domenici Education Building and the Roy E. Disney Performing Arts Center. Due to limited availability, the NHCC cannot accommodate all requests for tables.     The monthly celebration of food, health, and community scheduled for Saturday, September 14 is canceled. As a reminder, Salud y Sabor will not take place in October; we will be back in November to celebrate Mexico and Día de los Muertos and look forward to celebrating Perú in 2020.   • Mundos de Mestizaje

    12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas.   • Who We Are, Together: NM Families Project Presentation for Romero and Martinez

    History and Literary Arts Building

    2-4 pm This project engaged 2-3 generations of seven NM families in testing their DNA and researching their family lineage with the help of the NHCC and experts in the field. For seven Sundays these families will present what they learned about who they are, where they are, where they came from, and from whom they descend, followed by dialogue. International Cinema Series, presented in partnership with ¡Globalquerque!, New Mexico’s Fifteenth Celebration of World Music and Culture, returning to the NHCC on September 20 & 21.
