    Friday, January 24, 2020 6 pm Join us for the opening of “El Voto Femenino: Sufragistas Latinas luchando por el derecho al voto. Celebrating Hispanic Women’s Suffrage Worldwide”. This exhibit, which will run from January 24 through June 30.     The National Hispanic Cultural Center’s History and Literary Arts Program presents a new exhibit, “El voto femenino: Sufragistas Latinas luchando por el derecho al voto/The Women’s Vote: Latina Suffragists who Fought for the Right to Vote” which opens on Friday, January 24, 2020, and runs through June 30, 2020. There will be a free opening reception on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 6-8 pm in the historic History and Literary Arts (HLA) Building on the NHCC campus, where the exhibit is on display.     February 2, 7 & 9, 2020 2 pm—Sundays 7:30 pm—Friday Opera Southwest presents Daniel Catán’s Il Postino, a fully staged opera with orchestra, sung in Spanish with both Spanish and English translation supertitles, and presented in two acts with one intermission. Presented in partnership with the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Il Postino is based on the novel Ardiente Paciencia by Antonio Skármeta, as well as the film by Michael Radford.     11 am On Albuquerque’s Classical 95.5 KHFM and 98.7 WFMT-FM in Chicago A live national broadcast of the world premiere performance of the opera Bless Me, Ultima, on Albuquerque’s Classical 95.5 KHFM and 98.7 WFMT-FM in Chicago, hosted by Valerie Martinez. Opera Southwest, along with the National Hispanic Cultural Center and San Jose’s Opera Cultura, is thrilled to have commissioned this work based on Rudolfo Anaya’s best-selling novel.
