  • Globalquerque Mini-Fest for Albuquerque School Kids

    10 am We'd like to let you in on a little secret. Each year, ¡Globalquerque! kicks off with a free concert for our local school kids. This mini-fest features two of our regular performers doing short sets as a way to introduce the kids to some cool different cultures. International Cinema Series, presented in partnership with ¡Globalquerque!, New Mexico’s Fourteenth Celebration of World Music and Culture. Latcho Drom, meaning “Safe Journey,” is a visual depiction and historical record of Romany life, told through musicians and dancers of India, Egypt, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, France, and Spain.     12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas.
