    This event has been canceled but we hope you will join us for another Because It's Time museum event. 5:30-7 pm During this FUNdraiser for the NHCC Art Museum, in the style of speed dating, participants will have the opportunity to have quick five-minute mini tours by artists whose work is currently on exhibit in Because It’s Time.  Snacks and a cash bar will add to the fun!     7 pm August screenings in the Bank of America Free Thursday Film Series conclude Becoming American: A Documentary Film and Discussion Series on our Immigration Experience. This six-week series is a project of City Lore, a cultural center for the arts and humanities based in New York City.     6-8 pm Join us to celebrate the conclusion of our spring memoir writing workshop with a reading by Ymelda Baca, Patricia Clark, Evelyn Fernandez, María Leyba, Regina Manocchio, Steve Morrow, Elaine Reyes and Leanna Torres who will read excerpts from their memoirs in-progress.     12 pm to 5 pm A Vision of History through Fresco… Mundos de Mestizaje by Frederico Vigil is a mural housed in the Torreón on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This monumental fresco depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history highlighting diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas. The fourth in our People-Powered (New Mexicans in Social Movements) Series features Henry Jake Foreman.  Henry Foreman uses traditional, Indigenous models of knowledge production along with contemporary practices.  He is the founder of the Karuna Colectiva that mentors youth in Albuquerque.  Indigenous methodologies and epistemologies guide his philosophical and research approaches to working with youth and communities to promote the health of our biosphere.   • ¡Baile! Rueda de Casino (Cuban Salsa) Dance Class

    6 pm to 7 pm Beginning and Intermediate - This class is geared for teenagers and adults. Come learn footwork, partner skills and choreography. No experience necessary. 7 pm to 8 pm Intermediate and Advanced - In order to participate in this class, dancers must know how to keep time, closed position calls, dame, enchufla, and outside turn.
