DESCRIPTION:12 pm (MST) \nAvailable for 48 hours on the Instituto Cervantes Vimeo Channel HERE \nEl viaje a ninguna parte won the first Goya Awards (Spain’s main national annual film awards) ever given\, for Best Film\, Best Director\, and Best Screenplay\, in 1987. \n1986; Spanish with English subtitles; 134 minutes; not rated. \nFree community event \n \nOctober 6 will mark the establishment of the Day of Spanish Cinema\, recognizing the important role of filmmakers in the country’s cultural and social life\, as well as the value of this artistic heritage\, now over a century old. \nIn the first celebration of this day\, Instituto Cervantes\, in coordination with the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID)\, presents Fernando Fernán-Gómez’ 1986 film El viaje a ninguna parte.  Adapted from the director’s acclaimed novel of the same name\, the film is the story of a family of traveling comedians who perform in rural communities during the 1940s and 1950s.  With the arrival of cinema\, their world\, and their era\, is coming to an end.

DESCRIPTION:October 24\, 27\, 29 & 31\, 2021\nSundays at 2 pm\, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 pm \nVerdi’s La Traviata is a fully staged opera with orchestra\, sung in Italian with English translation supertitles.  Presented in three acts with one intermission. \nOne of the most famous of the great classic operas\, Verdi’s La Traviata is a sweeping love story set against the backdrop of decadent Paris high society where the celebrated courtesan Violetta eschews her wealthy suitors for the simple life with poor Alfredo. \n$21\, $41\, $62\, $83\, $103 with discounts for groups of 8 or more\, anyone 30 years old or younger\, and Opera for All with a WIC or EBT card. \nCOVID PROTOCOLS:  \n \nThis performance is requiring all attendees to be fully vaccinated (vaccinations must have been completed at least 14 days prior to the performance) and provide proof of vaccination by showing either the original vaccination card or a printed copy of the vaccination card before entering the venue.  MASKS ARE REQUIRED. \nVisit the Opera Southwest website HERE. \n\nThe title\, content\, photos/images and description for this event were provided to the NHCC by the organization renting the NHCC venue for the event.
