DESCRIPTION:5:00 pm – 7:00 pm \nThe NHCC is thrilled to announce that we will be reconnecting in person with lovers of literature\, folks who love to read\, and those who enjoy talking about the far reaches of Latinidad. We will meet on the last Wednesday of every month in the Center’s HLA Conference Room. \nIn April\, we will be reading Afterlife\, by Julia Alvarez. Afterlife tells the story of an immigrant writer\, reeling from her beloved husband’s sudden death in the wake of her retirement\, whose life is further derailed by the reappearance of her unstable sister and an entreaty for help by a pregnant undocumented teen. \nFree community event.
