¡Baile! Rueda de Casino (Cuban Salsa) Dance Class

6 pm – 7 pm Beginning and Intermediate - This class is geared for teenagers and adults. Come learn footwork, partner skills and choreography. No experience necessary. 7 pm – 8 pm Intermediate and Advanced - In order to participate in this class, dancers must know how to keep time, closed position calls, dame, enchufla, and outside turn. On Point Dance Studio Presents 2017 Summer Fiesta (Rental)

Come have a blast working on your dance skills with Carlota Silva. Body isolation movements, reggaeton, and Latin Hip Hop on August 1 and August 8 7-8 pm in the Salon Ortega at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. All ages and all levels welcome. Carlota began dancing at the age of 2. She currently teaches jazz, hip-hop, tap, and contemporary dance at Fishback studio of dance. She coached the Viking Vikettes and is the director and choreographer for local dance company Off Broadway. She is excited to (more...)

Bosque Chile Festival

10 am to 7 pm A celebration of food, art, and culture on the Rio Grande, presented by Bernalillo County and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Join in the celebration of the chile harvest with entertainment, kids’ activities, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, beer and wine, a salsa competition, and chef demonstrations. New this year—agricultural education workshops and a green chile stew competition. MARAVILLA: UNA NOCHE EN COLOMBIA 2017

6 pm – 12 am In 2017, the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation’s signature fundraising event, Maravilla, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, will highlight the vibrant and rich culture of Colombia. Maravilla provides direct support to the NHCC and its Foundation to promote, preserve and advance Hispanic arts, culture and humanities, while providing a unique cultural experience to attendees. ¡Globalquerquito! – A mini-fest for Albuquerque School Kids

10 am We'd like to let you in on a little secret. Each year, ¡Globalquerque! kicks off with a free concert for our local school kids. This mini-fest features two of our regular performers doing short sets as a way to introduce the kids to some cool different cultures. This year the participating bands are Trad.Attack! (Estonia) and Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo (Venezuela). This year we are opening the program up to the general public. Come share some great music and the joy and (more...)
