This workshop is instructed by Annette Gutierrez-Turk. Annette has taught this art form to groups internationally and at the NHCC for many years. She is also an award-winning artist, most recently recognized in 2019 at Santa Fe Spanish Market. Annette will demonstrate as well as answer questions. National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation: Día de Salud y Matanza
NHCC Campus 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM9:00 am Día de Salud, while focusing on overall health and well-being, also aims to celebrate and incorporate the influence of Hispanic culture and traditions. The event recognizes the unique health challenges and perspectives within the Hispanic community and seeks to provide culturally relevant information and resources. By infusing Hispanic influence into Día de Salud, the health fair can effectively reach and resonate with the Hispanic community, promoting a sense of cultural pride, awareness, and empowerment around health and well-being. This is a great opportunity for friends to hang out, a unique date night option, or a place to come solo and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase. PNM Rehearsal Hall 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM, United States1:30 to 3:30 pm New Mexico Folk Dance for Seniors will feature four weeks of traditional New Mexican folk dance lessons, including the traditional La Marcha dance, taught by instructor Lucy Salazar. Classes run for four consecutive Wednesdays in October and November, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. On the day of the final class, live music will be provided by La Rondalla for a fun-filled dance fiesta!
