Convergence x Crossroads: Street Art from the Southwest

Convergence x Crossroads: Street Art from the Southwest is an exhibition in the Art Museum at the National Hispanic Cultural Center that showcases the vibrancy and ingenuity of the street art scenes in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, California, and Northern Mexico presenting artworks by artists who identify as Chicano/a/x, Latino/a/x, Indigenous, and Native American.  The artists whose work is featured in the exhibition use the street as their medium to create graffiti and/or murals. On the street, their work is widely accessible to passersby, yet also ephemeral. (more...)

7:00 pm Friday & Saturday, 2:00 pm Sunday NHCC | Albuquerque Journal Theatre Festival Ballet Albuquerque presents Sacred Journeys V featuring Robert Mirabal. Classical and contemporary dance combine with the eclectic music of two-time Grammy award-winning Taos Pueblo musician Robert Mirabal in this reflection of New Mexican cultures through dance, music, and spoken word. Mirabal collaborates with Festival Ballet Albuquerque’s artistic director Patricia Dickinson Wells and with internationally renowned New York City Ballet dancer Jock Soto, of Navajo and Puerto Rican descent. NM United Hispanic Heritage Watch Party

6:30 – 8:00 pm Soccer clinic in Education grass area 8:00 – 10:00 pm Game Time Please join us as we welcome New Mexico United soccer to the NHCC campus with an exciting Watch Party on our Plaza Mayor. Together we can show some Burqueño support as United takes on Orange County SC. The City of Albuquerque will be providing a big screen so everyone can see the game in style.
