DESCRIPTION:5:30 pm – 7:30 pm \nOn the first Thursday of the month\, NHCC invites adults for artistic fun in a relaxed social setting\, which includes snacks\, refreshments\, and beer & wine for sale from Pop Fizz.  This is a great opportunity for friends to hang out\, a unique date night option\, or a place to come solo and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. \nThis month local artist to be announced. Inspired by current Art Museum exhibit\, House on Mango Street. \nEach session is led by a different artist and the art-making technique varies in this adults focused community event. DESCRIPTION:7 pm \nThe NHCC’s new summer music and dance series in the Center’s enchanting Fountain Courtyard presents this season’s last concert\, in partnership with Melaza Music. Spend a final evening with us enjoying live music\, drinks\, and the delicious Latin cuisine of Nob Hill’s Guava Tree Cafe. We have invited some of our musician friends\, from the local community and outside\, for lively summer get-togethers right next to the beautiful Rio Grande Bosque. \nCuban-born percussionist\, arranger\, vocalist\, and educator Jesús Díaz\, a resident of the Bay Area since 1980\, is now one of the most in-demand performers and studio musicians worldwide. A key member of many of the region’s leading Latin ensembles\, he has performed with artists including Stevie Wonder\, Carlos Santana\, Dizzy Gillespie\, Tito Puente\, and Celia Cruz. His 10-piece orchestra Jesús Díaz y Su QBA\, founded in 1998\, has a repertoire of original compositions based on traditional Afro-Cuban music with influences of funk and jazz—the new Cuban dance music known as timba. \nJoining Díaz as a special guest will be Grammy award-winner and four-time Grammy nominee Raul Pineda\, named one of the best and most innovative Latin drummers in the world today. DESCRIPTION:7:30 pm \nThe Bosque Chile Festival will still be “Hot After Dark\,” as Soul Divine presents an encore performance of their wildly popular Earth\, Wind & Fire tribute\, sprinkled with all you would expect from this incredible\, funk-filled group!  Established in 1997\, Soul Divine\, with credits including James Brown\, Lakeside\, The Dazz Band\, Sparx\, and Lorenzo Antonio\, and record label deals with Epic and Warner Bros.\, set the local scene on fire with its exciting brand of Latin and jazz-tinged R&B music and quickly established itself as the hottest ticket in the region.  Over the past two decades\, the band provided the soundtrack for a new generation of soul music lovers and set the scene for R&B groups that followed.\n$22

The festival’s main concert on Saturday night features Orquesta Canela\, a 14-piece all-women salsa band from Colombia\, and Grammy-nominated artist Micky Cruz\, for a magical night of music and dance on the NHCC’s Plaza Mayor. Founded in 1992\, La Orquesta Canela has attained national and international recognition with the release of nine albums and tours in the U.S. and Canada\, as well as Latin America.
